March Madness

For me, March Madness has nothing to do with Basketball this year and everything to do with...the weather. Winter Blues? ... Bah!

Oh...now I get it...saw the chart on the news last week...it's official...Winter... and it's snowfall... was (is?)  more of a challenge this year. The snow came later and is taking its time leaving the scene...businesses are having guessing games as to when it will totally be... gone...yes, we had another snowfall of 6"s or so last week... it may be a while but... ... I can see outdoor furniture...colorful furniture...Spring is coming!

It really is...I keep telling myself. Okay so there is still ice inside the breakwater at Northport but, now there are gulls walking on it looking for an opening. On the other side of the pier at Northport, the water is open and those little specks are ducks dobbing up and down.

Things are waking up on the other side of the Door...it may not feel like Spring but, activities are happening that make me think Spring may be on it's way. Businesses are making moves which have led to announcements.

Four businesses right on Hwy 42 in downtown Sister Bay have made such announcements. Drink Coffee has purchased the former Moretti's. I saw them hard at work on the building as I went through today.
Just next door, Cupcake Heaven will be opening  in Drink Coffee's old location in early May. There are pictures of cupcakes in their windows!Continuing North, the now yellow building  is being reworked into what will be the Door County Creamery, a cheese store/factory. Got that? Wait! There's more...The former Sister Bay Cafe has been sold to the owners of Wild Tomato in Fish Creek. (I will truly miss the Cafe's heart shaped cardamom waffles.)

Over in Bailey's Harbor, the former Town Square Market will become the base for Door County Brewing Co.So there is some changing going on here...one just has to look for it!

Another Opening...
